Windows 2000 DHCP Setup Instructions
- Select Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections.
- Double-click the Local Area Connection icon to open the Local Area Connection Status window.
- Click the Properties button to open the Local Area Connection Properties window.
- In the upper portion of the Local Area Connection Properties window, confirm
that there is a card name in the greyed out text box under the label
"Connect using"--if there is not one listed, please see your Network Administrator.
- Click to highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). If Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
isn't listed, please see your Network Administrator.
- Click the Properties button to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
- If you have not done so already, take a moment to copy down all your current
settings for future reference.
- Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
- Select Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Click OK to return to the Local Area Connection Properties window.
- Click OK to return to the Network and Dial-up Connections window.

Windows XP DHCP Setup Instructions
- Select Start > Settings > Network Connections.
- Double-click the Local Area Connection icon to open the Local Area
Connection Status window.
- Click the Properties button to open the Local Area Connection Properties window.
- In the upper portion of the Local Area Connection Properties window,
confirm that there is a card name in the greyed out text box under the label
"Connect using"--if there is not one listed, please see your Network
Administrator.
- Click to highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). If Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP) isn't listed, please see your Network Administrator.
- Click the Properties button to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.
- If you have not done so already, take a moment to copy down all your
current settings for future reference.

- Select Obtain an IP address automatically.
- Select Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Click OK to return to the Local Area Connection Properties window.
- Click OK to return to the Network Connections window.
